Depeche mode
|
Iplayer has a DM at the BBC show, which for people of a certain age might bring back some memories. They actually mention Crocs (now the pink toothbrush) where they used to play in the early days. I felt so sorry for that Crocodile back then.
Anyway, if you like DM which I do, then it's good watch.

I usually tour with them but not sure it's happening this time. So might be at the O.S, might not. All good sound blokes, really made an effort after my dramas the last few years, always asked how i was etc Couldn't speak more highly of them and I'm not even a fan.

I'd think most people would cry if they had to listen to you waffling on for an hour on a train.

Saw them live in Stockholm 2006 supported by the Muse who were excellent. Was a bit disappointed to be honest but it was a open air concert in the old Stadion and the atmosphere was a bit crap.
Seeing some of their stuff on Youtube in Barca and Paris they look immense. MPJ is in my top 10 of all time.
Funny talking of the Camden thread I use to see Martin Gore a lot in Primrose Hill in the 90s when I lived there.

Nothing stand out on the new one, though lyrically it's more political. Seen them a number of times and never seen a bad show. Only album that outright sucked was Ultra. Play a decent range of old and new when doing a show so should be good in June.

I love their older stuff when wilder was in the band, Dave's voice sounds fucked though now. strangely Martin Gore sounds the same

One of my favourite bands. Latest album was a let down though.

Thought they were comical at the 6Music festival, like watching Begbie from Trainspotting do a pub singer act. Dated stuff.

From 1989/1993, they were arguably the best band in the world. Criminally underrated.
Went to see them in Sheffield, after we'd lost 0-5 at Hillsborough. Great band.

Saw them a lot in my youth, great live, we used to joke about Fletch's knee bending behind his keyboard, the closest he got to rocking out.
